November 3-10, 2018 – SALT Adventure yoga/surf retreat with Petit Davina and Dave Hannas
If the ocean can calm itself, so can you. We are both salt water mixed with air.
-Nayyivah Waheed
The concentration of salt in our bodies is equivalent to that in sea water. When we go back to the sea, we are going back from whence we came.
This SALT adventure invites you back home to the sea… back home to your body. Join Petit Davina and Dave Hannas in the quaint beach town of Troncones, Mexico.
We will explore waves of movement, waves of stillness, waves of breath, and warm saltwater waves. Experience the healing powers of SALT… sweat, tears, and the sea.
Mornings will begin with awakening yoga and deep stillness led by Petit. Your morning might begin even earlier with a stroll from your beachside bungalow, meditation by the sea, or a relaxing extra hour in bed. The beautiful open air yoga Shala at Present Moment Retreat offers us a peaceful space to greet each day, each breath, each wave of emotion, thought, inspiration…
We wil take time to journal, ponder, share and wander.
Breakfast is onsite, delicious and healthy.
After breakfast, it is your time to walk barefoot in the sand, plunge in the pool, nap in a hammock, take a class offered by Present Moment staff, seek out adventure, schedule a massage/wellness treatment, or just lounge in the shade and let the salt air heal you.
Lunch, smoothies, gourmet snacks are available at Present Moment, or check out some of the nearby eateries and markets. (You can open a tab at Present Moment for your stay… and you receive 10% off boutique purchases!)
We will venture off to Saladita (20 minute drive) some early mornings and most late afternoons to surf and play in warm waves. This surf spot is great for all levels, and a good place to learn. Dave, a beach bum at heart, will be our fearless leader in the surf.
If you prefer to stay at Present Moment for solo time or more classes, massage, etc… we can arrange that for you. Petit will offer early evening vin/yin class on select days.
Dinners will be at Present Moment or out for authentic, clean, delicious food at one of the humble beachside offerings in Saladita.
On Wednesday we will have a group adventure day. This will look something like… sunrise meditation and yoga, surf session, breakfast, kayak or hike, sea turtle exploration, and to Zihuatenejo to stroll, shop and dine together. Never a dull moment. Relaxing… but never dull.
Each day, each breath, each wave is an opportunity for connection… for remembering wholeness.
You were wild once… don’t let them tame you!
See you in the sea…

ABOUT THE LEADERS:
🏄♂️Dave Hannas has spent most of his life enjoying the ocean and the magic it has to offer. He has connected to the sea through free diving, fishing, kayaking, body surfing, and his greatest passion of all, surfing. A beach bum at heart, Dave grew up on the beaches of Florida, spent over a decade in Hawaii, and, though he now resides in Bend, OR, can never seem to get enough of the salt water and sweet wild ways of the ocean… in search of the endless summer. He spends his time between Bend and southern Baja.
As a father and veteran of the sea, he is inspired to share his passion, knowledge, and desire to preserve this precious playground.
🧘🏼♀️Petit Davina is a yoga guide, adventurer, rhythm-maker, surfer, mountain mama, dancer, writer, mother, mermaid, nature-lover… opening and connecting her students to a playful remembrance of connection and wholeness. She has been guiding yoga and movement for all ages in many environments, on and off the mat, for over 14 years.
She is inspired by travel and creativity and nature. She is fascinated with rhythm and movement and connection. Petit grew up and grew gills on the Kaweah River in Central CA and was seduced by the ocean beginning in her teens in Mexico and Santa Barbara. She is re-cultivating her deep love affair with the ocean after many years focused in dirt, snow, and mountains. Her latest endeavor is SALT adventures… guiding others on meaningful worldwide journeys of discovery honoring waves (of breath, stillness, emotion, inspiration, surf) and recalling the healing powers of sweat, tears, and the sea.
Dave and Petit met on the beach in Baja in 2017. They have been roommates in Bend, OR for one year, navigating parenthood (two sweet 8 year old boys who are now the best of friends), a new chapter in life, and all that comes with sharing space and friendship. They are grateful to have found each other and to share their passion for connection, movement, surf and the sea.
p.s. Dave is a humble yogi in training.
p.p.s. Petit is deeply humbled by the immense power of the sea.
