While it’s still cold in the States, we’ll have the whole hotel to ourselves in this small Mexican village, north of Zihautanejo and Ixtapa. This is our fourth-annual, women-only retreat in this idyllic location, where we offer meditation-writing classes, yoga, and a host of other activities. Women come from all over the world—some of them not knowing anyone else on the trip—and the bonding is quick and deep.
We’re a group of women who are still curious and game. We’re explorers who want to keep learning and challenging ourselves. And we like to have fun. Be ready for walks on the beach with new friends, boogie-boarding in the waves, dance parties, shopping, and a child-like sense of play.

Jeannie Ralston is the co-founder and CEO of NextTribe, the digital magazine and community for smart, engaged women over 45. NextTribe’s mission is to inform, promote, and connect women who are determined to “Age Boldly” (NextTribe’s tagline).
Ralston’s work as a journalist has been published in National Geographic, Life, The New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Allure, and many other magazines. Her years growing lavender in rural Texas was the subject of her memoir, The Unlikely Lavender Queen, published by Broadway Books; her e-book, The Mother of All Field Trips, was about the three years she and her husband homeschooled and traveled with their sons. She lives in Austin, Texas.
Kimberly Cihlar, an Acu Asana Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation and Meridian Yoga Therapy Facilitator, Acupressure Massage and NADA Auricular Detox Acupuncture Specialist, who offers treatments including Cupping, Gua Cha, Moxibustion and more, staunchly believes that every body has the ability to age boldly, as pain-free as possible: just get moving to keep moving, modifying as needed. To that point, yoga remains her ride or die, pun intended. She came to the practice over a decade ago, seeking transformation inside and out. Since then, she’s completed over 500 hours of certification, including SOS, MYT, and NADA auricular acudetox training.
As a yogi, fashion editor, writer, jewelry designer, and lover of life, Kim is a constant student, following a path that has expanded her world exponentially. Yoga is her guide, her teacher, her reason for a sober and ecstatic heart, mind, and spirit. She believes in a world of love, holistic health, awareness, and true authentic Being, spun out from heart-centered healing. Kim’s desire to serve and share the wellness modalities knowledge she specializes in, focusing on yoga, acupressure, cupping, NADA, and more, has led to her participation in the SOS Volunteer Outreach Program and work within the New York Harm Reduction Educators (NYHRE) community. She continues to lean into the learnings of asana and acupressure, studying the intelligence of our organs and how that insight and intention affect emotional balance and energetic wellness as we grow wiser and older. After all, age is more than just a number.

About Troncones & Getting Here
At the heart of charming Troncones Beach, nestled between the lush mountains of the Sierra Madre and the sparkling Mexican Riviera, Present Moment Retreat combines the ambience of nature’s grandeur with personally challenging mind-body work, set in harmony on beautifully-landscaped tropical grounds.
Troncones Beach is a small, recently-developed community situated on some 3 miles of pristine Pacific beach – a strand of white sand punctuated by occasional rock outcroppings often harboring tidepools teeming with fascinating saltwater life. The charming village is home to a small school, a public library (donated by generous local residents for education of the village’s children), a church, several dry goods outlets and a few other small provisioning services for essential items. All of these are couched within a traditional and tropical Mexican ambience.
