Present Moment Retreat Mexico Yoga Retreat & Hotel Spa - Troncones, Guerrero, 40880, Mexico

I know it can be daunting to choose from all of the wonderful trainings offered around the globe, so I wanted to tell you a bit about what makes our training special, what sets this one apart…

One thing that makes our Yoga Teacher Training truly incredible is the venue. There are a lot of trainings offered at budget prices where you live in a dormitory and share a bathroom with all of the participants and the food is usually good quality “camp” food rather than fine dining cuisine. I think this is a great option for some. In fact, I lead many trainings that fit this mold and I think they’re beautiful experiences. However, this particular Yoga Teacher Training is held at Present Moment Retreat, which is, not to overstate it, paradise on earth. Present Moment has ten beautiful bungalows (each with a private bathroom and ocean view!), an amazing Chef who specializes in spa cuisine, a crew of amazing massage therapists, a pool with jacuzzi, and we’re located right on miles of undeveloped beach. I could go on and on about the facilities and the beauty of the location, but there’s a ton of information online. Make sure you check out the Present Moment Website and read reviews on the TripAdvisor page.

Another unique aspect of this Yoga Teacher Training is its emphasis on Cleansing and Shamanism. The cleansing begins with a yogic diet, vegetarian and light. As the training progresses, there will be days of fasting. This can be a bit daunting for those who have never cleansed before, but by the time of the first fast you will be completely prepared for it physically, mentally and emotionally. As our physical bodies become clean and light we will begin to cleanse our spirits through meditation, chanting, and energy work.  Through our daily practices we begin to explore that which connects us to both our shadow and light and helps us embrace our inner-essence. Once we are clean inside and out we can delve into shamanic ceremony to create the connection with the suble invisible realms.

Shamanism is an ancient healing practice which offers us a method to work with energy and connect more deeply to Spirit. I have studied with Shamans in Guatemala and Peru and have been inspired to integrate Shamanic Theory and Practice into this training. We will use the Native American Medicine Wheel as a guiding structure to everything we do. There are four cycles in our training, each will follow a cardinal direction and will be guided by a spirit animal. The training culminates with a Shamanic Ceremony where we will drink ceremonial quantities of Cacao, the bean that is used to make chocolate. This sacred plant, when consumed with reverence and intention, allows us to more easily connect with Spirit and the invisible energies which exist all around us. The ceremony will be a celebration of life and accomplishment, because at this point in the training you will have all the tools and theory necessary to teach the ancient art of Yoga wherever you go.

I hope to see you here at Present Moment for a Yoga Teacher Training soon.  When you are ready to register you can visit our Registration Page. If you have any questions or would like to tell me more about yourself, please email me anytime.

In Grace and Gratitude,

CJ Ananda
