Acupuncture is an alternative medicine methodology originating in ancient China that treats patients by manipulating thin needles that are inserted into acupuncture points in the skin. Stimulating these points corrects imbalances in the flow of 'qi' (life energy) through energy channels known as meridians. Acupuncture can be combined with Shiatsu or Swedish massage and generally includes a dietary consultation and herbal remedies to correct imbalances.
Reiki is an energetic and spiritual form of bodywork developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. This treatment method has since been adapted by various teachers of varying traditions. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands-on healing as a form of complementary therapy and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine by some professional medical bodies. Through the use of this technique, practitioners transfer universal energy (reiki) through the palms, which allows for self-healing and a state of equilibrium.
In ancient China women who danced to bring spirits back were called Wu, which can translate to Shamans. Our therapist, Michelle Helfner, combines her traditional Chinese Medicine studies and her work with teachers in Central America to combine acupuncture, massage, crystal chakra balancing, sound bath with crystal singing bowls and tuning forks, aroma therapy and cranial sacral work in a combined session to harmonize mind, body and spirit. Modalities are combined in order to effect the most graceful change in the shortest time. These sessions are a “reset” button. We are all just atoms vibrating, using multiple energy systems together allows for a gentle layering that can help remove old thoughts, patterns or vibrations. Allowing the space to release and resolve obstacles that no longer serve and creating a space of balance.
Sacred Cacao Ceremony
Come and discover the power of a Heart Activating Cacao Ceremony. During sacred ceremonies, we will use Cacao, a plant medicine known for its power to relax the body and open the heart. This will be combined with breath work, meditation, sound and partner exercises, all designed to harmonize, balance and activate the infinite presence of love within our being.
Since Ancient times, Cacao, named the food of the gods has been used in ceremonies from the Amazon jungle to North America. Its main transmission, to relax the body and mind, allowing love to flow, creating an experience of deeper connection to the body, mind and soul.
Michelle Helfner's cacao ceremonies are an inspiration to come together, open the heart, heal past wounds and rejoice in love. It is a chance to express gratitude for the cacao spirit and allow for that spirit to blossom infinite possibilities within you. Michelle holds a safe space where you can feel comfortable to go deep into the authentic nature of the heart. She uses Cocoa beans in the form of hot chocolate, to bridge the connection between our visible, material world and the invisible, spiritual world that we unknowingly live in. Michelle then uses a combination of sound bath, crystals and guided journey to open the heart.
